Young Savers Account

Teaching children how to save early in life is a great habit to give them.

They will learn about the value of money and how to save for things that matter to them - a new toy, CD or latest computer game.

To help, we have created the Young Savers Account for the under-13s. It's fun and easy to use - open an account with as little as €1.

    Fun and learning with the Young Savers Account

    • Running the account is absolutely free of fees and charges.
    • We pay interest - making saving more rewarding
    • You can arrange for regular payments into the account
    • Lodge and withdraw money in any of our branches nationwide

    Learning how to save doesn't have to be boring. So to make it fun, interesting and educational, each child gets:

    • A stylish moneybox to store their pocket money and any change before adding the contents to their account
    • A Young Savers puzzle page and the chance to enter a competition for €100 to add to their account and get them off to a great savings start

    How to open an account

    • You can open an account with as little as €1 and running the account is absolutely free of fees and charges.
    • The account will be opened in both your names if the child is under seven. If the child is over seven, the account will be opened in the child's name.
    • Visit your local branch and bring along the following identification documentation.
      • Proof of adult's true name e.g. driving licence or passport
      • Proof of adult's current permanent address e.g. utility bill
