If calling from your mobile, the new number for Bank of Ireland phone banking services is 0818 365 365. If you are calling from a landline, however, you can still use 1890 365 365.
From 8th September 2010, customers will only be able to reach us from a mobile by using this new number - 0818 365 365, while landline users will still be able to use 1890.
Since calls from mobiles to a 1890 number are significantly more expensive to operate, the Bank has followed other major companies and introduced a new 'telenumber' to cater for these calls. In most cases there will be no difference in cost to customers calling from their mobile since mobile operators generally charge the same for a 1890 call as a 0818 call. However, you should check with your mobile service provider for more information on your own charges.
As calls from mobiles to a 1890 number are more expensive to operate for the Bank, we've decided to follow other major organisations and move these calls to a more efficient 'telenumber' - 0818 365 365.
If you are calling from a mobile this change, in general, should not cost you any more although this does depend on your mobile package. Contact your mobile provider to check if there's any difference between calls to 1890 and 0818.
No
The 1890 number will remain for landline users but will be discontinued for calls from mobile phones from 8th September 2010.
For the moment, the change only applies to the main phone line for Bank of Ireland personal banking services (1890 365 365) but other numbers may change in time. Any further changes will be notified to customers when they happen.
You can continue to call 1890 365 365 from your mobile up to 8th September 2010. From this date, the 1890 number will no longer be accessible from a mobile.
If you have Bank of Ireland phone banking saved to your mobile phone directory, change it today from 1890 to 0818 365 365.
Terms and conditions apply to Bank of Ireland 365 phone services.
